Space Forum Guest Speaker: Pr. Chris Welch, International Space University
The Space Forum team is proud to announce that Pr. Chris Welch, Resident Faculty member of the International Space University (ISU) will be a guest speaker at the Space Forum 2016 which will take place on May 10-11, 2016, at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg.
Professor Chris Welch is a Resident Faculty member of the International Space University (ISU), Strasbourg, France and a Visiting Lecturer in Spacecraft Propulsion at Cranfield University, UK.
Prior to his move to ISU, Prof. Welch was Principal Lecturer in Astronautics and Space Systems at Kingston University where he held both Business and a Teaching Fellowships and was the University's 2010 Teacher of the Year.
Prof. Welch is a winner of the Sir Arthur Clarke Award for Space Education and also is a Director of the World Space Week Association and a trustee of the SpaceLink Learning Foundation and the Arts Catalyst and Vice-President of the British Interplanetary Society.
Prof. Welch is a frequent commentator on space and astronautics and has made more than 200 television and radio broadcasts. Among Prof. Welch’s other achievements are that he was one of the final twenty candidates for the 1991 UK-USSR Juno mission to the Mir space station and has written what he believes to be the first ever paper on extraterrestrial garden design.
Prof. Welch is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a member of the Institute of Physics and of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He is also a Chartered Physicist.
